    Banyan Global is recruiting an intern to support its Youth Practice. The intern will be exposed broadly to the work of an international development consulting firm, providing support to operations, Banyan Global’s Youth Practice, business development efforts and other company practice areas, depending on interest. The intern may also be responsible for helping special activities associated with a current project in Banyan Global’s Youth Practice.


    Banyan Global internships are a minimum of 3 months, part-time and full-time schedules are available. Banyan Global internships are unpaid but a monthly transportation stipend is provided.  


    • Interns will gain a deeper understanding of Youth programming strategies and implementation, including challenges particularly related to youth, workforce development and security in Latin America.
    • Interns' works will focus on these areas, but not limited to these depending on opportunities and the interns’ interests:
      • Conducting research and providing support to Banyan Global’s business development efforts, particularly related to youth project opportunities
      • Stakeholder mapping in Honduras and countries in the “Northern Triangle”
      • Conducting background research and summaries of relevant literature related to youth and workforce development in diverse regions around the world
    • Interns will be exposed to program design and management challenges and will have the opportunity to support a project in Banyan Global’s Youth practice; maintaining youth project files in hard and soft copy; and assisting with the implementation of project management systems.
    • Interns will be mentored and receive training to expand their knowledge of international development and gain skills and experience in USAID proposal development, program management, and project compliance and regulations.
    • Interns will have the opportunity to attend events throughout Washington D.C. related to Youth development globally.


    • Interns should have strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and strong attention to detail;
    • Must have a strong interest and relevant coursework/extracurricular experience in international development and Youth;
    • Strong research, writing and copy editing skills;
    • Previous international experience, and Spanish language skills are preferred;
    • Interest in learning more about key issues related to youth development in Latin America or other regions
