    Banyan Global is recruiting an Access to Finance Specialist to manage access to finance activities with a partner bank under the USAID-funded Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus project in Madagascar.  The position will be full-time, working in collaboration with team members responsible for other project activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical assistance to the partner bank, training staff on the structure of the partnership with USAID and on the financial services needs of private health care providers and water, sanitation and health (WASH) clients;
    • Assist bank staff in identifying potential clients among the target groups and building a pipeline of loan deals;
    • Act as a liaison officer and expert to target enterprises seeking financing from the partner bank;
    • Provide technical assistance to help identified private health enterprises and WASH clients successfully access financing;
    • Identify and collaborate with professional associations and networks to further program aims;
    • Facilitate training for private health providers and selected WASH enterprises in business and financial management;
    • Organize strategic consultative meetings between private health providers and financial institutions to build knowledge and relationships;
    • Develop work plans for the project in cooperation with Banyan Global management and maintain contacts with USAID and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a citizen or resident of Madagascar;
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience working in the Malagasy financial sector;
    • Knowledge and understanding of the business needs and challenges faced by Malagasy Small and Medium Enterprises;
    • Outstanding project management skills;
    • Experience working with USAID or other international donors preferred;
    • Demonstrated adult training/coaching skills;
    • Familiarity with health or WASH sectors a plus;
    • Fluency in French, Malagasy, and English.
