    Banyan Global is seeking senior and mid-level Communication and Data Visualization Specialists for upcoming USAID-funded monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in communications, data visualization, graphic design, public relations, training, and/or capacity building. A master’s degree and prior experience on USAID-funded projects, especially MEL platforms and projects, is preferred.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead all communications initiatives by facilitating the development of creative and innovative communication ideas, vehicles and mechanisms to showcase results/outcomes from the implementation of projects;
    • Support the program teams to develop means to effectively share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Collaborate with team members and facilitate creative discussions to form conceptual ideas leading to the design and development of infographics, charts, maps, and other visual content for publications, reports, marketing materials, social media, and other mediums to amplify content generated from program activities;
    • Translate technical findings into more user-friendly products, like infographics and policy briefs, for non-technical audiences;
    • Design and build publication-ready visualizations using unstructured and structured data;
    • Determine the best presentation of data, success stories, and approach to convey messages to different audiences using qualitative and quantitative insights;
    • Provide communication and data visualization support to special events, workshops, meetings and conferences as needed;
    • Write, edit and oversee the production of publications, including newsletters, reports, photos, dashboards, infographics, video scripts, social media messaging, etc. in compliance with USAID branding guidelines and program-approved Branding and Implementation Plan and Marking Plan; and,
    • Perform other communications and data visualization tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will have some of the following qualifications:

    • Master’s degree plus minimum 6 years of experience in communications, data visualization, graphic design, public relations, training, and/or capacity building.
    • Strong writing and editing skills.
    • Experience writing for the web and social media.
    • Familiarity with USAID’s branding and marking guidelines and communications activities.
    • Demonstrated experience in supporting and leading data visualization activities, with strong ability to turn performance data, evaluation results, and abstract comments and messages into compelling content.
    • Demonstrated experience to produce high-quality, visually-appealing graphics.
    • Experience with design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite, and experience building and customizing templates for MS Office.
    • Ability to travel internationally for short-term consultancies.
    • Master’s degree and experience on USAID-funded projects, including conceptual knowledge of MEL, is preferred.
