Overview

Banyan Global seeks a qualified candidate to support the development of a gender analysis for USAID/Kosovo under the Gender Integration Technical Assistance II (GITA II) Task Order. This role aims to analyze and identify opportunities around gender equality and women’s empowerment to inform the development of USAID/Kosovo’s 2026-2031 Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) outlining Mission priorities. Banyan Global is seeking a local consultant to contribute to the gender analysis and take a leading role in conducting primary data collection and analyzing findings.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing data collection plans, including drafting interview guides, identifying key stakeholders, and planning interviews.
  • Conduct data collection, including but not limited to, facilitating interviews and focus groups, typing up notes, and analyzing findings. Translation of data collection instruments and interview findings may be required. Local travel in Kosovo is anticipated.
  • Contribute to presenting and refining findings and recommendations with USAID staff.
  • Support drafting of deliverables, responding to Banyan Global and USAID feedback as relevant.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in sociology, anthropology, gender studies, international development, or a relevant social science field and 10 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in a relevant field and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups.
  • Expertise in gender integration within sectors such as governance and economic growth.
  • Strong written skills, especially for concise products for non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically and clearly with clients and local stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience working with and knowledge of USAID programs.
  • Experience conducting gender analyses and/or assessments.
  • An awareness of local stakeholders working on gender equality issues, with existing relationships with local stakeholders.
