Overview

Banyan Global is a woman-owned and managed international development consulting firm committed to improving livelihoods through market approaches to international development. Banyan Global works seamlessly across five practice areas: health, economic growth, gender, youth, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL). This position is based in Washington, DC and candidates must either have US citizenship, permanent residency, or a work permit. Banyan Global currently operates on a hybrid schedule. This position may be filled at either the Program Coordinator or Senior Program Coordinator level, depending on the final candidate’s experience.


The (Senior) Program Coordinator will provide financial, administrative, and programmatic support to a fast-paced and diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will be organized, able to meet deadlines, proactive, open-minded, and eager to expand his or her programmatic experience in international development. S/he will work closely with team members to make sure activities are running smoothly and efficiently, including supporting recruitment, procurement, financial monitoring, logistics, and contractual compliance. Additionally, the (Senior) Program Coordinator will support quality deliverables and communications through research, editing, and formatting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial reporting, budget development, pipeline tracking and analysis, and budget modifications.
  • Coordinate processes for travel bookings, travel advances, expense reports, and invoices.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding. Draft agreements and mobilize employees and consultants for long- and short-term assignments.
  • Serve as the primary contact for consultants on administrative issues and contract compliance.
  • Update files and project management tools to track information such as timelines, compliance requirements, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Draft and update communication materials, such as webpage descriptions, success stories, email campaigns, and handouts.
  • Work with Program Managers and Officers to support the development and finalization of project deliverables including researching, editing, and formatting documents and developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with new business development.
  • Adhere to Banyan Global and USAID policies and procedures.
  • Adapt to perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

This role requires the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-5 years of experience in project administration, international development, or other relevant field.
  • Strong office and organizational skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team while also working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience interacting professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Fluency in English.

 

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Experience or interest in MEL within international development.
  • Knowledge of USAID policies and procedures.
  • Second / foreign language skills.
  • Experience in editing content to produce easy-to-understand, grammatically correct products of consistently high quality.
  • A high level of comfort and flexibility with digital tools, such as basic graphic design skills, Google Apps, and/or Mailchimp.

 

Salary range: $57,000- $75,000. Salary commensurate with years and nature of experience
