Banyan Global is recruiting an Inclusion Specialist for the anticipated USAID/Guatemala’s Business Enabling Environment (BEE) Project. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze Guatemala’s investment and business environment through an inclusion lens to ensure that the priorities and perspectives of Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth are represented in project activities. The position is full-time and based in Guatemala City and is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

● Faithfully represent Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth perspectives in program design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation;
● Facilitate stakeholder meetings among Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth business owners and community leaders;
● Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on the participation of Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth in the business sector and their access to investment;
● Analyze the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples, gender, and youth perspectives in the creation and development of those policies regulating the business, investment, and employment environment;
● Develop a project-level gender and social inclusion action plan and provide trainings to project staff and partners;
● Create resources, trainings, and tools that can help government agencies, policy makers, donor-funded programs, and community organizations empower Indigenous Peoples, women, and youth businesses; and,
● Develop transformative monitoring and evaluation indicators to measure project outcomes in social inclusion and gender equality.

Qualifications

● Citizen or resident of Guatemala is required;
● Minimum of seven years of experience in the field of gender and social inclusion and Indigenous peoples’ relations is required;
● Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology, economics, international development, or another relevant field is required;
● Demonstrated knowledge of inclusion priorities related to the Guatemalan business environment, investment environment, and business-related policies is required;
● Fluency in Spanish and English required;
● Experience creating Indigenous Peoples, gender, and youth analyses and implementing action plans is required;
● Experience with monitoring and evaluation is strongly preferred;
● Experience conducting trainings is strongly preferred.
